"The Garden" — Dr Guirguis' most famous subjects. The Garden is not just a physical space but a metaphor for Egypt itself — a land of timeless fertility, beauty, and divine order. It embodies a quiet strength, a remembrance of origins, and a hope for renewal. Through its layers, the painting bridges the ancient and the modern, the personal and the cosmic, holding within it the soul of Egyptian culture: resilient, poetic, and eternally blooming.
A one-of-a-kind, hand-painted artwork

Nowadays we swipe for the instant gratification we receive from Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, but growing up, a substantial amount of my entertainment came from the one magazine I read the most. I was devoted. I would eagerly wait for the next issue to continue the journey with the characters whom I connected with and were part of my unending imagination. The next day at school I would sit on the steps by the library and share thoughts of the comic sequence with my friends. We were all devoted. We would then play make believe games and fight over characters. I would go home and continue reading through the pages, and then over dinner, I would tease my siblings with spoilers. This journey continued into my adolescence and early adulthood- the library steps and pretend games were gone by then. They were carefree times of pure joy, where the subtle scent of the thin paper print of the Mickey comics would satiate my enthusiasm. With this piece, I bare my inner child through a glimpse of the simple treasures I cherished.

This piece came as an extension to my exhibition entitled "When Magnolias Bloom." There is something arresting and ethereal about a magnolia tree in flower. Something divine and mystical that reminds me of a whirling dervish bursting in grace and total liberation. In my increasingly frequent states of solitude, - Me, Myself, and I - find a companiable companion in this outlandish tree, the first of my garden's plants and the closest to my heart. I gaze at its flower and how it opens alarmingly wide as if to embrace the sun; how its delicate scent drugs the air and drowns my every thought in sweetness that lingers far beyond its short life. How these voluptuous creamy petals give themselves so generously to life with such unreserved ardor and noble bounty. And I wonder what wouldn't be possible if we could learn to live like that?

This painted duck sculpture is a whimsical yet intentional reflection of joy, culture, and storytelling. My inspiration stemmed from a desire to merge playful childhood nostalgia with expressive, narrative-driven art. The duck, a symbol of innocence and lightheartedness, serves as a canvas for a vibrant scene filled with music, human connection, and emotional contrast. The illustrations wrapping around the duck explore themes of togetherness, creativity, and mood shifts — from cheerful skies to looming clouds — capturing the emotional spectrum we all navigate. The crown atop the duck represents a playful elevation of the ordinary — reminding us that everyday moments, like music and companionship, hold regal significance in our lives. Through this piece, I wanted to create something that makes people smile, reflect, and perhaps see a piece of themselves in this surreal, joyous world.

This duck design is a bold fusion of contemporary pop art and playful symbolism. The head is covered in a vibrant array of hand-drawn yellow emoji faces, representing the complexity and range of human emotion in today's digital age. Contrasting this, the body features a striking black-and-white zebra pattern, symbolizing individuality and wild expression. Topped with a whimsical pink crown, the piece elevates the everyday into something joyful and iconic. Through this contrast of textures, patterns, and moods, the design invites viewers to reflect on the tension between curated appearances and authentic emotion — all while maintaining a sense of fun and creativity.

This playful sculpture of a duck is more than a quirky design element. It captures the essence of who we are: diverse, fluid, and unapologetically original. Tie-dye, by nature, is a process that embraces spontaneity and imperfection — no two patterns are ever the same. This mirrors our culture: ever-evolving, vibrant, and grounded in individuality. Each ring of color represents a layer of collective energy — where creativity flows organically, and every idea adds to the bigger picture. The overall piece is a celebration of unity through contrast — showing how fluid thinking and diverse voices can create something truly unforgettable.

The basic motif behind Mostafa Rabie's creations so far has been a raw sense of optimism and fresh charm. His style treads a thin line between instinctual and naïve art, a space where child-like lines and compositions exist but with the intention of a skilled artist. His subject matter is deeply rooted in Egyptian folklore, yet it's almost a wonderland version of our culture. All his figures are playful and light-weight, as though they are dolls or marionettes in a children's theatre, but depicted with the skill of a mature artist.

When I received the white duck from Dolls & Dons, I saw something complete in its simplicity. It didn't need to be transformed — it was already beautiful. For me, happiness isn't about imposing myself onto something, but about appreciating what's already there and elevating it subtly. So I added just a few touches: a velvet scarf with pearl beads, a thin golden strip on its crown, and a soft, gold-toned velvet base to lift it slightly. These elements weren't meant to change it, just to honor it. That, to me, is happiness — gentle enhancement without taking away from what already exists.

The concept behind this piece is a celebration of our roots and heritage. The black color of the dog symbolizes elegance, depth, and the rich history that comes from living under the Egyptian sun. By blending ancient Egyptian art with contemporary design, this piece highlights the importance of honoring our ancestry, our DNA, and the legacy passed down through generations. It's a reminder to cherish our family and our origins.

This piece is inspired by the tension between form and function. The colors are intentionally high-contrast and energetic. Matte black serves as a grounding base — sleek, modern, and slightly mysterious — while the vibrant yellow pops across the form. The checkered patterns around the neck and crown add a sense of movement and energy to the piece. The pink is soft and unexpected against the darker tones adding a sense of play and elegance. The zebra pattern wrapping the back adds a wild, almost hypnotic texture that acts as a visual echo of chaos contained within form. This piece is about layering contrasts — chaos and control, innocence and boldness, elegance and edge.

There's a certain joy in painting on sculptural forms, each curve tells a story. In this piece, the duck embodies a sense of childlike wonder. I painted a blue sky and a family in motion, as if they were journeying together with the duck as their vessel. The process was both playful and deeply moving.

The sculpture depicts a duck topped with a crown, symbolizing a playful blend of childlike imagination and royalty that enhances a magical atmosphere. Inspired by Mozart's The Magic Flute, it features operatic characters in theatrical costumes, including Papageno playing the flute and Tamino and Pamina in a poetic, intimate moment. Bold colors, abstract details, masks, and dreamlike motifs create a vibrant, non-linear fantasy world. Overall, the work reflects a personal journey from childhood through different stages of awareness, combining imagination, emotion, and memory.
